After a little bit of a rough go in our life the past couple of months, which is a bit too personal for this blog, I've come to recognize how blessed our life is right now. Sometimes I don't feel like we deserve it when I see what others have to go through, especially lately. Although we too have hit some bumps lately, for the most part, life is really wonderful right now.
I'm the type that tends to wonder occassionally why life is going particularly well when I'm not experiencing a trial or hardship. I had kind of an "aha" moment this morning during my personal prayers that gave me the insight that instead of questioning why life is so good right now, I need to be grateful and enjoy it and use this time to do things I haven't been able to do in a while...attend the temple, personal scripture study and service. I need to be filling my cup for when life does get harder and more complicated and something happens that we aren't prepared for. It was a bit of an awakening and I know before long there will be something that will be stretching us again and pushing us to grow (namely another baby and pregnancy, or finding a job, Ammon becoming chief or moving, etc) and I need to essentially enjoy life now and be grateful for the calm before the storm.
I thought I would use today to list some things that I'm not taking for granted right now and that bring me a lot of joy.
