I mentioned him before, but Winky was our little elf that visited this year. Normally we've had four elves around here, but this year with the pregnancy, I felt like I could only handle the antics and mischieviousness of only one elf. ;-)
Thankfully for Ammon and leaving so early in the morning, Winky was not forgotten as much as he could have been if I had been soley been left to move him. And thankfully for Ammon's foot he has on me in height, Winky was able to hide higher than our elves in the previous years!!!
This year, Winky was found some mornings on the fan, in the Christmas tree, drinking syrup in the kitchen, wrapped up in extra strands of lit lights, riding our decorative reindeer, etc. He was a busy little one but all four kids (I still don't know if Ethan is pulling our leg or not!) were so excited to wake up and see what he had done during the night.
I already posted how he left 40 gumballs in trails all over the floor one night (this a repeated picture from the other post), but here are a couple of other things I caught on camera
(thank goodness for the Smith's point and shoot camera we borrowed).
He took all 40 of our Christmas books from under our tree and set them up in teepees all over the family room and was found right in the middle of them!
One morning he was found riding a T-Rex and had "brought" all the toy dinosaurs from downstairs up to the family room, and was leading a parade of prehistoric creatures!
On the last night, "he" TPed all the kids in their beds and their rooms, and was found holding the empty roll of toilet paper by the Christmas tree. That was the kids favorite besides the gumballs....they giggled so much when they found him and woke up to be covered in their beds in toilet paper.
Then proceeded the BIGGEST toilet paper snowball fight in our family room...it was such a mess to clean up by the time it was all shredded. I even got a couple of giant balls to my face! ;-)
Even though it's extra work, this little elf business brings a lot of fun to the kids' lives each December, especially since we had to wait three extra days to celebrate Christmas. It really is like remembering to be the tooth fairy, EVERY DAY for a month, but I love to wake up and act so surprised about what the elves have been up to each night. I've got a great "shocked" look for when the kids come to wake me up each day....I'm going to have to think of some new things for next year....

Winky is pretty funny. We have a Grinch that the kids find, but I think next year I'll add a bit of mischief to his hiding. What fun!
